CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT REFERENCES

Rhinophyma

Rhinophyma is when the nose becomes bulbous and the pores prominent - it is often caused by untreated rosacea.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic relapsing disease of the facial skin. It is characterised by recurrent episodes of facial flushing
It is a misconception of the general public that Rosacea is related to excessive alchohol consumption and is referred to as 'drinkers nose', this is something I had wrongly thought before researching this.

I like the subtle bulbous appearance of his nose.

I like the colouring of the Rosacea but feel the Rhinophyma is a brilliant texture and could make a great nose for a character. This could be something I could potentially incorporate in my design however I feel it may look too comical and over the top.
