Old Age Make ups - Industry
An old age sculpt by Barrie Gower for Merlin. The silicone makeup, consisting of facial and hand appliances was applied by Shaune Harrison & Adrian Rigby. For Coulier Creatures FX.
Sculpt broken down to create a multi piece make up. top lip is a separate piece which is interesting - due to movement of mouth and the difficulty that is had keeping prosthetics around the mouth in place perhaps.
Silicone bald cap sculpted and applied by Barrie Gower for film Dark Shadows. I think this old age make up of Ray Shirley is incredible. The colouring, particuarly around the eyes is so believable.
This foam old age make up is very impressive and inspiring. It is seamless and the colouring is fantastic. I love the weathered look that FX artist Kevin Yagher gave to Alec Gillis. I think it is especially impressive that this is a foam make up - the skin colour has the translucent appearance of skin. The capillaries and vein tones work so well.
The texture in this sculpt is great -
Pierre-Olivier Thevenin and his team used silicone appliances to create this aged make up. I think the face and the neck is effective however I do not feel the top of the head looks right - it is an odd shape and stands out from the rest of the face.
The colouring of this piece looks a bit over done and appears a little too bruised rather than the prominent vein tones.Too much green/purple? However perhaps a bruised look is what was wanted.
