CLARE HEDGES
MAKE UP ARTIST
ALL AGES
Laura demonstrated a make up look on mature skin.
Important points:
- Preparation is crucial - Hydration essential
- Age make up focuses on skin
-Communication with model is important
- Use Matte texture rather than high shine
EYES
- Focusing dark colour on outside of eye and blend.
- Shadow under eyes with pencil brush - do not want harsh lines - SOFTEN
- Use satin/Matte textures (not metallic shine)
- If using liner, use chocolate brown - not as heavy
- concealer slightly lighter - cream concealer so does not set and look powdery
FACE
- use mineralise powder (pressed) perfect for mineralise skin as it adds radiance
- Loose powder will apply too heavily.
- Cream blushes and cream highlighters also add radiance
LIPS
- Line lips - soft nude lip
- Apply shine only in the center as it gives a plumper look
I think this soft look looks great and could not believe that Veronica was 75. This look really adds radiance to her skin. This demonstration was helpful and has given me more confidence to work on mature skin.
Helen Mirren looks radiant and youthful. She wears lipstick and eyeliner however it is her skin which is the focus. The blush on her cheeks gives her a look of radiance.
Meryl Streep also looks youthful and radiant. Her cheeks are matte but lightly bronzed and her eyes are contoured and highlighted with natural tones such as brown. There are no heavy lines or colours which makes her look younger.
