ALL RACES.

Today we learnt how to apply make up to different skin tones.

It is important to choose an appropriate primer for the skin tone that you are working on.

Laura used a golden primer on Rennae as she has golden undertones. It is best to avoid products with SPF in as these will make black skin look ashy.

When applying foundation, let it set on the skin as it will oxidise. Ensure that the colour is correct.

Laura used various shades of foundations as some areas of Rennae's face were more golden (her cheeks) and the outside more red in tone.

When applying the eyeshadow, Laura chose shades which would best compliment Rennae's skin tone. It is best to avoid pastel shades and nothing too high shine.

Blending the eyeshadow was crucial in creating this look to ensure a seamless finish. Laura used black in the corner of the eye in a 'V' shape. She then used a cotton bud and some make up remover to create the sharp edge towards the corner of the brow. I think this is really effective.

When applying the eyeshadow, Laura pressed the colours onto the eye and layered the products.

This video by IMAN Cosmetics shows a bronzed look which I feel is similar to that shown in our demonstration.
